First off, I should make this clear, the mixer is centralisted in europe, but we will try to deal with North America pings via UTcomp.
It's been a year since a very successful mixer last summer, and I want to carry the trend for what we hope to be the last time in UT2004 (not the first time weve hoped xD).
We don't care who you are, where you're from or how good you are UT wise, anyone as welcome as long as they own a copy of UT, a comp, an internet connection and know how to use our bloody forum.
For those who don't know a mixer is a tournament where random players register and are placed in teams with strangers, while keeping the teams fair at the same time.
We currently have 31 registrations at the time of this post, and teams are placed at 3v3, but if we can reach the 50 mark, there will be 10 teams of 5 players. As our cousins in the UT2004 community I would be pleased to see some people from this forum register. If you have any questions reply to this thread or in the Mixer forum and I will try to answer as soon as possible.
Without further delay, here is the link : http://z7.invisionfree.com/asmixer/
Registrations end July 2nd , teams drawn by July 8th, with matches being played over the summer months.
Hope to see you there, and TY for your time. |

Added this to the front page news.
Also, could you elaborate on how this mixer thing works? Never heard of such a thing before. |

I thought Lobster were the first to bring it into fashion for Assault?
Its a tournament, bunch of random people register using the form, after the registration deadline, myself and a few trusted admins will randomise teams and adjust to make them fair as see git. If we settle for 10 teams of 5(plus support players) as I hope, we shall split it into 2 groups. In each group, the teams that finish 1st progress to the semi automatically, 2nd of group A play 3rd of group B, while 2nd of group B play 3rd of group A. The winners of the quarter finals, play a team that automatically qualifed, then we should have 2 teams for a final. Every team will play the other teams in their group once each, with matches being fixed and dates being set as a guidline to work within. The maximum matches you can play is 7, while the least is 4. Dates will be set across July for the group stage, then across August for the final rounds.
It's a cup that you won't need to be clanned to compete, and it's all for the fun. The mixer of last summer we had in europes AS community was the best damn experience I've had in 3 years of UT2004.
I think that's it summed up, and thanks for the posting it in News.
I will answer any other questions people have. |

I had suspected that, but I didn't want to go making accusations, keeping on good terms with everybody is essential.
I had already saw there was a Mixer section in the Lobster forum before making the thread. |

I think I'm going to sign up for this. The only thing that would hurt would be practice. Practice would stretch my time commitment too far.

Since I was denied participation in the last mixer, this might be the chance for me to have one last go before UT3.
Sadly though, it's right in the middle of when I start my new job. Too many damn unknowns to be sure about it. |

If I'm right in thinking PT is GMT -7, I'm sure most matches would be around midday to afternoon hours, it all depends on the time the teams decide to play, this would also mean no late nights for you |
